Clarification – Obstetric Ultrasound Pre Authorization

Kentucky Spirit Health Plan medical policy allows for two (2) OB ultrasounds during a 9-month period without pre-authorization. Additional OB ultrasounds will require pre-authorization from Kentucky Spirit Utilization Management.

Notwithstanding the above Perinatologists rendering OB ultrasound services do not require pre-authorization.
